BIOGRAFIA Edu Garcia - nascido em São Paulo, SP, em 28 de fevereiro de 1979. Estudante de piano clássico no Conservatório de Música Ars At Scientia do Brasil (CMASB) desde os sete anos de idade, foi convidado para tocar bateria por acaso quando completou dez anos. Quando estava com treze anos e após seis dedicados ao estudo do piano, resolveu encarar definitivamente a bateria. Estudou o instrumento primeiramente com Wilson Dias, passando mais tarde a ter aulas com Maurício Leite. Músico free-lancer para a cantora country Paula Hunter – 2 anos e meio, tocando em festivais e shows pelo Brasil como Rodeio de Barretos e Rodeio de Recife, junto com Ivete Sangalo, Rick & Renner, entre outros artistas nacionais. Profissional há dez anos, toca desde 2001 na banda paulistana Threat, onde desenvolveu seu próprio estilo na bateria. Com a banda, Edu Garcia figurou em reportagens veiculadas em todas as revistas especializadas de Metal, como Roadie Crew, Rock Brigade, Rock Hard Valhalla, Revista da MTV, Revista da Jovem Pan, entre outras; além de passagens por programas especializados de rádio e TV. Tendo como sua especialidade “tocar pesado”, foi convidado para participar da matéria sobre Vinnie Paul, ex-baterista do Pantera, fazendo as transcrições das principais músicas e comentando para a “Revista Batera & Percussão”. Também toca na banda Unscarred, tributo ao Pantera – www.panteracover.com . Também gravou com Alexandre Garcia e Fernando Costa (entre seus trabalhos, Inox, Golpe de Estado) o cd The Crow & The Crow’s Band, rock progressivo instrumental, ao estilo Emerson, Lake and Palmer. Toca desde 2001 na banda paulistana Threat, que tem no currículo, matérias em todas as revistas especializadas de metal, como Rock Brigade, Roadie Crew, Rock Hard Valhalla, Revista da MTV, Revista da Jovem Pan, entre outras, passagem por programas de rádio e tv especializados. Abriu o show do Anthrax, no Credicard Hall, em 2005. Realizou o lançamento do cd “debut” em dezembro de 2007, vindo no começo do Ano de 2008 estar entre as 5 bandas revelação segundo a revista Roadie Crew, lista que vinha com banda de “peso” como André Matos. Participou com o Threat de vários shows importantes, como a abertura para o Anthrax no Credicard Hall (SP) em 2005. Realizou o lançamento do CD 'debut' Heaven To Overthrow em dezembro de 2007; e no começo de 2008 a banda ficou entre as cinco revelações do ano segundo os leitores da revista Roadie Crew. Em janeiro de 2008, participou de uma matéria da Modern Drummer sendo um dos destacados, dando lições e dicas sobre dois bumbos e pedal duplo. Estando ao lado de bateristas de prestígio nacional e mundial, como, Elóy Casagrande, Ricardo Confessori, Aquiles Priester, Fernando Schaefer, Amilcar Christófaro, entre outros. Em maio de 2008, o Threat figurou entre os destaques do "Maquinaria Rock Fest", onde dividindo o palco com Suicidal Tendencies, Biohazard, Sepultura, Misfits, entre outros. O grupo também se apresentou ao lado de Joey Belladonna (ex-Anthrax) e no final de agosto de 2008 partiu para a Alemanha, onde se apresentou no maior festival de Metal do mundo, o "Wacken Open Air", tocando ao lado de Iron Maiden, Hatebreed, Killswitch Engage, Exodus, Kreator, entre outras. Lançou seu DVD entitulado Drummin with Threat na Expomusic 2008, no estande da Krest Cymbals. Recebendo amigos bateristas como Aquiles Priester, Maurício Leite, Alexandre Aposan (Oficina G3), Fernando Schaefer, entre outros e fans. Tendo a cobertura feita pela revista Roadie Crew. Na revista Roadie Crew de março de 2009, Edu Garcia foi eleito o 4º melhor baterista, pela votação dos leitores para os melhores de 2008. Em abril sairam lições feitas por Edu Garcia na revista Modern Drummer Brasil. No mês de novembro Edu Garcia começa uma parceria com o guitarrista Silas Fernandes, com quem tocou no Guitar Player Festival, uma das escolas de música mais respeitadas do Brasil, o EM&T. Student of classical piano at the Conservatory of Music “Ars At Scientia Brasil” (CMASB) since he was seven years old, he was invited to play the drums by accident when he turned ten. When he was thirteen years old and after six years dedicated to study the piano, he decided to finally play only the drums. Firstly he studied the instrument with Wilson Dias, later going to have classes with Mauricio Leite. Free-lance musician for country singer Paula Hunter - 2 ½ years, playing in festivals and concerts throughout Brazil as Barretos rodeo and Recife rodeo, along with Ivete Sangalo, Rick & Renner, among other national artists. Having been professional for ten years, playing since 2001 in the band Threat from São Paulo, where he developed his own style on drums. With the band, Edu Garcia appeared in reports published in all Metal magazines, such as Roadie Crew, Rock Brigade, Rock Hard Valhalla, Review MTV, Jovem Pan magazine, among others, in addition to guest appearances for specialized radio and TV programs. Since his expertise is "playing hard", he was invited to take part into Vinnie Paul’s report, former drummer of Pantera, as to transcript the major songs and talk to “Batera & Percussão” magazine. He also plays for Unscarred, a tribute band to Pantera - www.panteracover.com. He also recorded with Alexandre Garcia and Fernando Costa (among his works Inox and Golpe de Estado) the CD “The Crow & The Crow's Band”, progressive rock instrumental in the style of Emerson, Lake and Palmer. Playing since 2001 in the band Threat, from São Paulo, which have in their background, reports in all Metal magazines such as Rock Brigade, Roadie Crew, Valhalla Hard Rock, Review MTV, Jovem Pan magazine, among others, appearances on TV and radio programs. They were the opening act for Anthrax at Credicard Hall in 2005. Held the release of the debut CD in December 2007, coming in early 2008 to be within the 5 upcoming bands according to Roadie Crew magazine, a list which included important bands as André Matos. Participated along with Threat of several major gigs as the opening act for Anthrax at Credicard Hall (SP) in 2005. Held to release the debut CD Heaven To Overthrow in December 2007 and in the beginning of 2008 the band was among the five upcoming bands of the year according to Roadie Crew magazine readers. In January 2008, he took part in a Modern Drummer report being one of the prominent ones, giving lessons and tips on two bass drum pedal and double bass technique, being next to prestigious national and global drummers as Eloy Casagrande, Ricardo Confessori, Aquiles Priester, Fernando Schaefer, Amilcar Christófaro, among others. In May 2008 Threat was among the highlights of "Maquinaria Rock Fest", where they shared the stage with Suicidal Tendencies, Biohazard, Sepultura, Misfits, among others. Edu Garcia starts a partnership with guitar player Silas Fernandes, where he played in Guitar Player Festival on one of the most respected Music School in Brazil, EM&T (Music and Technology School).
